I have the petrol 4.4 best car ever except my range rover 4.4 petrol .
Had the tdv6 before again great car if the crank don't snap.

The V8 in the D3 was the JLR 4.4, the BMW engine was in the early rangies only.

D3's can rust spectacularly well. Rear seatbelt/body mounts and sillsDont want any engine issues or rust issues

The car I bought to tow me caravan turned out to be a dog , should have stayed with Land Rover

No heavy corrosion, MOT'd today with an advisory for surface rust on a suspension component. I suspect its where i worn some of the chassis coating off whilst off reading at the Stoneleigh show this yearInterested, any Corrosion ? don't like leather
I will treat this weekend before sale. Chassis is solid, massive history with it. Cloth interior, no AC as its a factory 5 seat base model but thats part of its charm for me, less to go wrong! It really is a very good example.

The bmw m62 suffer from cam chain guides failure. Iv had mine fully rebuilt.
The d3 v8 is the jag 4.4 v8 great engine they fitted it in the later range rovers after ditching the BMW lump.
Can't be many fl1 left on the road?

Tensioner and guides are a weak point on the 4.4 yeah, but it's a fairly straight forward replacement job. Worth checking if you buy one, just like you should be checking the oil pump on the diesels.
