Hi all, I have a discovery 2 v8 and wanted to dress up the engine bay, I looked into silicone hose kits but nobody seems to make them any more, has any one got any ideas of what else I could do, I was thinking of doing the rocker cover gaskets and painting the covers at the same time but would like to do a bit more or if anybody knows where I could get the hose kit please let me know.

Thanks everyone, I had already tried speed factory and can't buy the kit from the web site, I've tried emailing them and phoning but no replies, I did get through to Direnza who make the kit and kits for just about every other land rover but they've discontinued it for some reason, I did search ebay but could only find coloured silicone hoses for D1 v8's and black for the D2 v8's but thanks for your efforts, I will keep looking.

Sorry about that. Would black look so bad? Personally I have blue under the bonnet of my D1 and think it makes it look like a kids Tonka toy, but there you go!

No problem, thanks for looking, mine actually looks nice under the bonnet and all the hoses (black) are good, I just fancied jazzing it up a bit.

See if these people are any use https://www.artelrubber.co.uk/products-and-services/silicone-hoses/
Or you could try Stainless steel overbraid.

There are all sorts of tricks you can do to jazz the under-bonnet area. Have a look at Rod and Custom Car sites. Those people really know how to do it. I've seen prizewinning custom cars where all the wires except the Kinglead and plug leads are completely hidden, I just couldn't see how they did it!
There are fancy hose connections, Billet this, billet that, painted this painted that, ...
First step is to deep clean everything, then to derust and paint what needs it then to shine what is there as well. Imagine you are valeting the outside of a car for a show or a wedding, then do the same under the bonnet.

Thanks everyone for your efforts, I have lots of options and idea's now, I'll probably have a look at the stainless sleeves, some of the reinforced pvc colored hose and get the rocker covers powder coated.
