I guess just another thing to keep an eye on! Maybe it’ll be a little less drippy once I’ve replaced the rocker gasket, cam seal etc....

I better put a drip tray underneath the front end as i currently have the car stored in a friends very clean garage, which has (had) surprisingly pristine concrete floors....

I was always very careful not to park on anyone’s drive for that very reason. Outside of any issues they didn’t lose much but you could often see where they had been.

Managed to find the locking steel wheel nuts for the new wheels - 4x4 tyres sell them and i think theyre Tuff Rok parts.

Wheels have arrived - they look amazing

I was going to attempt to change the shocks back to the 2" lift kit myself but i have a distinct lack of lifting/jacking kit, let alone the space and level floor to do that, so ive booked in to have that done next monday, as well as getting the tryes changed on to the new wheels, and a general once over inspection.

Also ordered a Serck performance intercooler......

That i will be installing myself

Decided that the passenger headlight full of water was annoying me too much.......

This morning was final clean up of the headlights - now just waiting on some Sikaflex221 adhesive/sealent to seal the units back up again

Any other reccomendaitons on sealant?

Also - Whats the best thing to use to clean up the external hue on headlights?

After the confidence that changing the intercooler inspired, and inability to get to a garage, i decided to attempt to put on the terrafirma 2" lift kit......
Very nervous about being under an extremely jacked up landy, but all went well and managed to get at least one corner done.
Hope that now ive done one the second front will be easy, then on to the rears.

Looks good, I took mine out and buffed them as they were a little yellow and dull. Looked amazing for about 2 days!! Hope you have different luck!

After completing the front lift kit installation, relatively easily, i moved on to the rear this morning. Thought id have both sides done in a few hours after seeing that ALL you had to do was undo 4 or 5 bolts....

The difficulty is actually getting the car up high enough for the rear axle to drop low anough to anywhere near release the stock springs (had an air to coil kit on already) never mind get the new, taller, stiffer springs back in. Very painful job. Got one side done. Need to work up the courage to do the other side now.

In other news - I decided after installing a brand new performance intercooler that i was no way going to be feeding a horribly oily breather pipe back through it.
After seeing the ammount of oil both sides of the intercooler, and in the turbo, as i replaced the hosing and intercooler, i looked in to this problem and it seems that a good solution is the ProVent 200 Breather Filter from Mann Hummel.

It arrived today as well as some 25mm ID silicone hose the breather filter inlet and outlet take so i thought id fit that very quickly and easily this evening....

.....only the breather outled on the top of the rocker cover is 19mm OD.....

...ordered some reducer hoses and some connectors.

Today was not a productive day on the Disco.

Also spotted what looks like some pretty bad rust on the rear nearside chassis.

Can anyone quote how much a replacement rear chassis section is? Asking for a friend......

Provent 200 filter / breather filter fitted this evening - should hopefully keep my new intercooler nice and clean and stop breather oil getting back in to the turbo inlet and round the rest of the induction system.
Got some great fittings and hoses from Advanced Fluid Solutions.

Also got the final Terrafirma 2" lift coils and dampers fitted which was a massive relief to have completed - very very difficult without a proper mechanics/garage lift that can take the car right up and drop the rear - also borderline dangerous aswell - the coil compression needed to get the stiffer taller springs in is on the limit of any compressors i could find, and bought!

Manage to break the boost gague though, so thats now another thing on the list to fix as with hybrid turbo, stainless exhaust, uprated manifold and performance intercooler i want to start ramping the boost up a little!

lets see what the weekend brings!
