Hi guys… hoping one of you legends could help me as my brain is being wrecked.

Currently have my discovery 2 td5 and noticed the fuel pump was not coming on so i investigated this and found that the relay for fuel pump was not getting its power tracked that back to relay 9… I then bridged the relay and o then had power. So off I trotted to get a new relay and still nothing now I’m confused ???

Also check inertia switch that is all ok

Any ideas ???

Thank you for any help

Think you may need to check the pump is working if it is now getting a live feed.
If not get a live feed to it to see if that makes it work.

Hi mate I already checked this as when I bridge the relay the td5 starts and runs as should

To me "power" means you had electrical power, although you didn't expand on exactly to where.
At no point did you mention that once bridged the TD5 starts and runs as it should.

I'm really happy for you that this simple electrical stratagem made it start and run.

Maybe it is to do with the switched signal to the relay which you got round by bridging it.
So check that the relay is getting its signal from the ECU or wherever it should be coming from when you turn the key to pos 2. And its relevant earth i.e. the "in" and the "out". I have no idea which side should be earth and which positive, without looking at a wiring diagram.
@sierrafery will know!
But without this working the relay will not make the same connection as it did when you bridged it.

So I am now, like you, extremely confused as to why simply changing the relay hasn't turned into a total fix.
Yes this was confusing for me as to why I’m not getting power without the bridge. Is there any test I could do or any wiring diagrams that I could find for a better understanding ?

R9's coil is fed through the inertia switch and earth sent by the ECU to trigger it as long as the management is ok and not immobilised... how did you check the inertia switch to know it's ok? ... better unplug it and see if there is +12v against earth on the brown/black wire, if it is bridge te pins and see if R9 works then or not...if still no joy ccheck the connections in the fusbox's plugs, the earth to R9 from ECU must come on C0573-12 blue/red wire

Hi I’ve sorted delay thank you for the diagrams however I’ve developed a engine knock when cold and management light but once warm goes away… I’ve replaced injector wiring loom as was oily but nothing changed any ideas

It won’t let me post a video to show
