Discovery 2 rear view mirror replacement

How does the rear view mirror detach on a discovery 2. I don't mean door mirror. It looks like a ball and socket joint but I don't want to force it?

Do you mean the one attached to the windscreen? If so, there is a metal 'anchoring' point attached to the windscreen and the mirror slips over the 'slots' and is pushed down into place. At least, that is how mine ( which I no longer have) was attached! Some domestic curtain rails used to use this type of fitting - my old ones did.

I had seen the rave instruction but I wanted to make sure that this was correct as it is hard to see. I will try again but I don't want to press too hard.

Plenty of new ones around £50 with a quick google of AWR2147.

Yes I have seen the new ones but don't want to pay so much. Does the auto dim make much of a difference? Where did you take your feed from?

The wiring is already there above the headlining. The auto dim seems to work quite nicely, haven't really noticed any annoying undipped or poorly adjusted lights quite so much since I fitted it.

When I get a chance I want to try and cure the sunroof leak, so that would be an ideal time to look into it. Thnaks.
