Discovery 2 rear air suspension.

Hi all, I need to change the airbags on my disco, I have been having a butchers on e-bay and there is a choice of oem contitecs @ £240 a pair or oem dunlops @ £180 a pair. Is there a difference at all because there is in the price & their both from the same seller. Any advice will be welcomed very much so. Thanks

I got mine from paddocks, dunlops and cheaper than that.

don't get them from ebay, you really don't know what your getting...

Thanks for the link guys.......I shall be getting these.
When you say easy to fit, my only qwharm is re-fitting the air supply to the top of the new air spring. Iv heard you have to cut the pipes, is this true. If so what do I do specifically.

If your fitting the dunlop ones its simply a push fit.

I got mine from Island 4 x 4 and Dunlop had included comprehensive instructions, presume the other companies supplying them give the instruction leaflet as well.

Before you spend any money. Do you actually have holes in the air springs?

Oh yeah........lots & lots on both sides. Done the squirty soap water & bubbles everywhere. Thank anyways for concern.

no problem, well ok i've got a pipe cutter.
simple way get a small bit of wood, and a stanley type knife with a new blade, lay the pipe over the wood and cut off the brass nut off the pipe, making sure the cut is clean and at a right angle.
then as said just pushes home..

might be no harm giving the ride height sensors a good look over too,as they don't last forever.I've seen recommendations that they should be changed every 5 years or so,will keep you out of trouble in the long run.

Thanks......... funny you should say that, I did change them last year. They wearnt in very good condition.

Have a look at discovery2.co.uk full instructions with piccies. He is my saviour

. Just before you cut the pipes marry up and make sure you have enough slack. Mine only just reached. Easy job to do tho. It took me 25 minutes and I am complete mechanics numpty
