Hi I’ve got a discovery 2 2002 auto
Ive only had it for a week I locked it last night with the key not knowing the fob doesn’t work now came to it this morning and unlocked it it’s immobilised it’s self
Any help would be really appreciated
Red light is working on fob

Try pushing the "unlock" button on the fob then immediately put the key in the ignition and start it.
You have about 30 seconds before it will re-immobilise itself.

I’ve tried that its like the fob isn’t working but red light still comes on
The fault lies deeper then, either in the part on the PCB in the key that interacts with the immobiliser, or with the immobiliser and associated ECU unless it is with the receiver on the ignition barrel. but maybe not even then.
Do you know or have you got your EKA code? It should have come with the vehicle on a card. If you don't you can I believe get it fro a LR dealer with proof you actually own the vehicle.

On mine, if you unlock using the key, the alarm goes off when you open the door. I always lock using the key. Seems someone may have changed the "factory settings".

As the red light on the fob is working, it is trying to transmit, it could be the RF receiver in the roof, just forward of the rear sunroof, may not be working. It could be worth trying the fob right up near the receiver and pressing unlock. Has been know to work when the receiver is failing.

Otherwise, as mentioned above, you need the EKA code. Mine was scribbled in the owner's manual with the radio code. It's a PITA to use it though, very "user error" prone.

When immobilised, you can't access anything with diagnostics...

Good luck.

Just phoned landrover and im trying to sort the eka code hopefully i should be able to sort it then I’ve got a nanocom but like you said i can’t access anything

Once you get the code, go on Youtube and find the video on there that shows you how to enter the code. It’s a PIA as has been said. If it’s a complicated code and it works, you can simplify it with your Nanocom so it’s easier to enter if it happens again. There is a post on here somewhere with @sierrafery showing how to reset alarm and Immobiliser etc with Nanocom to help with issues like this.

If the fob works it's possible to be the RF receiver which is common failure, fortunately plug ad play...that's why it's clever to have two fobs cos if both fail to unlock the receiver is almost certain. Replace the receiver and if it was that once you can unlock with the fob it's remobilised

I got EKA code for my D2 from nearest LR Dealer, no charge.
So if code is 1234 start by unlocking and hold for 5 seconds til you hear beep.
Release then unlock once, lock twice, unlock 3 times, lock four times.
Unlock and hold it should beep twice if code is correct.
D5C9 would be unlock x4, release, lock x5, release, unlock x3, release, lock x9
WAIT 5 Minutes. Not 4 minutes 59 ! Open door put key in and turn ignition on.
Each turn is from the central position, so it is turn and release in one movement.
If your code has letters then each letter is it's place in the alphabet. So 1B3D would be 1234
Beware your code could involve many key turns, mine was something like 9,12,7,9
Also as Sierra' explains the receiver can fail, mine was full of water !
Took it out and opened the box, placed the circuit board in tub of rice overnight. Dried with hairdryer. All good.
BTW I had to borrow hairdryer for I have little use ! :D
Hope that helps.
