So.....I went out in my discovery this morning and a few moments after driving it just stopped. Its not out of diesel, I can hear the pump working and it hasn't thrown any lights on the dash. When I swing it over I can hear a bleep on the dash, not sure if that's anything to do with it. Any suggestions as to what this could be? Or am I asking a silly question as it could be absolutely anything??!! Thanks in advance for any answers

Can you describe how it stopped. Did any lights come on ? Did the engine splutter and stop, or just shut down. Yes…it could be anything !!!

If it were a V8, I’d say it’s a dodgy crankshaft position sensor (Cpk in the RAVE) that are known to go bad while driving. This happened to me in the middle of Atlanta, Georgia traffic during 98°F (36°C) summer weather.
Don’t know if Td5s have these sensors.
But… It’s best to check all your battery connections

TD5’s have a crank sensor. That could be on the list of causes.

Is this the same discovery as in the other threads?
Or is it a lot of discovery two models is breaking down in the last few days?

Could be a number of reasons. A faulty crank position sensor signal will cause the engine to stop, but should light the MIL (engine check light). Start by getting the codes read by a TD5-compatible tool (not OBDII), and let us know the result. If nothing shows up then the most likely culprit is a fuel issue. In the meantime, pull off the red plug on the ECU and check for oil.
