Hi guys first time doing this so excuse me if a waffle on, my question relates to a Td5 Discovery 2 on a 2004 plate and in particular the ACE system. It currently has an intermittent fault which illuminates the red or amber warning light, the system appears to be functioning correctly ie no body roll just 30 seconds of warning chimes accompanied by the light.
The lights extinguish when the ignition is turned off then on again with no code being shown on a code reader.
The code reader was also use immediately when the light came on before the engine was switched off and once again no codes were logged, there does appear to be fluid movement in the reservoir and the only parts replaced of late was the system filter.
That’s all I have any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

IMO that OBD2 scanner is not good enough for the D2's ACE cos not even Nanocom can manage with the fault codes but at least can read live inputs, only Hawkeye proved itself reliable with ACE codes. Can you access the ACE ECU with that scanner and read live inputs? If yes, remove the ACE relay, bridge the contac's cavities in the fusebox, read inouts and post them here... if no option forget about that scanner when it comes to the D2, it might work for ABS but that's about the most it can. As long as you have good fluid activity in the tank at idle you are on the safe side but to fix it for good you have to find somebody with Hawkeye or nanocom or go by luck and replace te transducer which is the most common failure http://www.discovery2.co.uk/ACE_transducer.html . Good luck

Hi, many thanks for the reply, much of what you’ve mentioned has gone right over my head but you’ve given me a direction to go in.
I’ll go with the transducer replacement to start then go from there, many thanks
