I need to replace my rear right abs sensor on my td5 disco. A search on eBay bring everything from £8ish to £40. I want a reliable system but don't want to pay more than I have to are they all decent or does it pay to spend more? I know from doing abs sensors on a BMW that only the genuine ones wil work is this the case for the discovery?

First of all how do you know it's only the sensor and not the hub? did it fail the stationary test with tester? , if it's only a fault code about sensor signal this can be irrelevant without the circuit test... about your question, wabco sensor is the way to go

I took the whole thing apart and it has a brand new hub on it the sensor itself is brand new as it still had grease on it. And there's no rust at all all shiny metal. However the three amigos self test and the abs light stays on until driving for a few seconds if I get out the vehicle and give the wire a tug the lights all come back on.

The diagnostics showed two fault codes with the same sensor one implausible and the other open circuit. It appears to be a broken wire in the sensor itself.
