It has been a month or so of trying to use three landrovers and it is proving a challenge with space and time.

My daily driver is now a Puma 90 so aside from the odd day when my wife prefers a bit of luxury the D2 is not getting any real appreciation which is a shame as I have done a lot of work over the last year of ownership. I also have a pre defender 90 which is looking very neglected now which I want to change.

In the last year I have:
1) Had the rear chassis replaced last year so that’s a big tick done. Also tested to protect.
2) in September I had power steering pipes replaced and while I was there had new intercooler for transmission, new condenser for a/c done and regassed. Chassis was painted up front as a bit of precaution.
3) new brake discs, calipers and pads to front and new hoses all round.
4) very recently had both track rod ends replaced (advisory on MoT). Wish I hadn’t but the reassembly caused issue with abs sensors so had those replaced on both sides at front as well as new hubs. Problem solved.
5) took a long time to solve abs fault which is common and battery died and although no issues since I was concerned it was quite an old battery so replaced that with a new one at cost of £200.
6) in the last month i have changed all and filters.
7) diff oils also replaced and new magnetic plugs.
8) i did the atf fluid change last summer. Tricky but worth it so you don’t need to worry about that for a bit.
9) all electrics work except drivers heated seat. Have never bothered to work out why.
10) Egr blanked.

MOT goes until October/November but see no reason won’t pass again. Has now done 168k miles which will increase slightly.

5 good tyres AT2 general grabber. I haven’t off roaded since buying.

Pretty standard aside from silver nudge bar and light bar along that.

On air still and works. Ace still works.

Sunroofs seals all good and they still function.

Nice interior. New black headliner.

I have no idea about price as there are silly prices for good examples and then non runners at the other end of the scale. I don’t really want to bother with eBay so selling through the site would make me feel better it is going to a good home.

Let me know if there is any interest. I will put photos up soon.

£4000 Ono

And this week’s excuse…:

I have actually been using a fair bit and my wife doesn’t want to see her go! Bigger than the 90 but definitely more comfortable to drive!

Now with 12 months MOT. Minor fail on number plate bulb (bulb was there but holder was loose so replaced complete unit) and exhaust brackets (front and rear now have new welded brackets).

I agree it would probably sell more easily at around £1,500 to £2,000 (how same age defenders etc sell for 5x more beats me).
At 25+yrs you can't realistically expect to get back what you pay-out keeping it roadworthy, safe and reliable.
So spending £2k on a chassis fix does not add to the value, it just stops a buyer deducting the cost-to-fix, from the going price.
If that does not suit you, then while it's getting through MoT tests, just keep it.
If not using it, just store it (maybe spray all underneath with ACF50 first).
One day you'll be glad you did... e.g. 1st car for the kids, or relative in need etc

Thanks for your thoughts. Not looking to get back anything I put into this. Otherwise I would be asking for double! 😂

I just think a d2 that has had a lot of issues that you find on 1-2k vehicles is worth paying something for. As you say if no interest then I will keep running her while I can. Great vehicle just don’t need three landrovers!
