Disco V8 petrol automatic with issue help please required

Hi can anyone help please,driving home my disco started to judder as if I we running out of fuel! This was not the case as only filled up day before with both gas and petrol. I pulled over and switched from gas to petrol but that did not work the revs jumped up and down even in neutral so I dropped it into 3 and it drove fine. 1st and 2nd also fine but put it back into D Drive and issue is back?? Phoned some garages but they not interested in helping does anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance Ricky

Welcome, best to Post in engines v8.
You have problems on both fuels which helps rule a few things out. Be sure to list model year, they changed from hotwire efi to Bosch motronic and whether LPG is injected multipoint or draw through single point

I would if I knew what it was sorry first time gas converted owner! I just checked the oil dip stick and found it to be so low it did not show on the stick so bought load of oil and filled her up. Seems to have worked but this is only from garage to house about 2 miles so will try it again tomorrow. Still not sure where or how I should check/fill the great box oil levels but I have my fingers and toes crossed. The truck is a p Reg I think 1996 by the way. Many thanks for your input.

OK so think you should have an aluminium rectangular inlet plenum with 3.9 embossed on it. This means you have traditional distributor ignition. See how it goes and post again, maybe it only manifests when up to temp
