Calo30 - I had this, and it was the "upper accelerometer" which is the stability sensor in the plastic pod above the rear-view-mirriw (i.e. where the front sunroof winder/switch is).

It was around £40 for a new one, but you have to be careful fitting them.

There's also a lower accelerometer which is on the chassis (look under drivers door, bolted to chassis is a large box with pipes attached - that's the ACE actuator - now go further under cat and on the other side of the chassis there's a small item with wires going in - that's the lower accelerometer).

May be easier taking it to a garage - they'll plut in the lap[top/testbook thing and tell you in 5 mins if there's a fault with one of the accelerometers...

Is the typical Citroën green LHM (liquide hydraulique minéral) compatible ?
The function of the fluid is similar in Citroën hydraulic suspension system

1. why would u put a french stuff in a Land Rover:eek::eek::confused:.......if both are genuine the system will blow:D:D:D

2. if it's mineral then i wouldnt use it for ACE.

I've been told that Dexron atf is synthetc and the atf LR specify is mineral based. If this is correct then you'd be mad to use Dexron, speshly as a top up. I recall Dexron atf is vegetable oil based and have seen people flushing auto box's with sunflower oil. Cheaper + residue will mix with atf after flushing.

Whatever you do dont let the fluid run out it lubes the pump and it will seize i would be suprised if you havent got a leak somewhere on the pipe system

Another possible problem is the pressure switch on the front side of the valve block.
I`d give it a try with cleaning the connector and putting it back on soaked in WD 40 or equal. cured it on mine last month

.....mine had a bad seal in the connection on the front right, just by the Shock turret.....worth checking but difficult to see initially.

Nick.

Have got a similar problem myself. I have got pleanty of fluid and it is circulating ok. Have got no leaks that i can see but on the way home from work the warning light came on when i was cornering. I switched it off and then on again to reset it and it came on again on the very next corner. When i got home i had a quick look around but nothing obvious. At one point the light came on whilst it was stationary on the driveway. It has always made a hissing/sneezing noise from the ace block every few seconds when stationary but i could not hear this today. Had another poke about and the hissing/sneezing noise started up again. I have no idea if this is normal or not. It has not put the warning light on since but i have not driven around and corners since it cleared up. Has anyone had this sort of problem and what are the likely causes? It has been good as gold up until this cold spell.

Hi My land rover discovery 2 v8 also makes a sneezing noise from the ace valve block every few seconds
Is this normal? if it is not normal what is the fault?
All the best Matt :)

Hi no leaks and fluid level fine ace all works fine just this weird sneeze noise every few seconds
