Disco Sport 2017 buyers advice

Hello all, I'm considering a new car and I've found an option within my budget - a Disco Sport 2017, 2.0 TD4 SE Tech 5dr 7 seat, manual gearbox, with just under 90k miles on the clock.

It sounds good on paper, so I'm going to go out and have a look at it later today. Just wanted to know if there's anything I should be looking out for - any warning signs, any little clues to bigger issues, anything to check specifically. Also any hidden costs likely to hit me?

It's from a dealer so hopefully there's a bit of backup if something did go wrong.

this is work in progress for the TDV6 , apologises i can't comment on petrol engines as i haven't owned one accept no responsibility, i put this together in the hopes it may help , this is only a general guide from personally owning a D3 and from learning in what to look for . Choose carefully...

but it refers to a different model so I didn't know how much of it applied?

Hi

I wrote that but indeed a different beast , the DS is on coils instead of air like the D3 is

Heard bad things about the ingenium engine

Thanks all, you've been most helpful. I'm not going to go ahead with the one I looked at - mostly seemed ok and fair priced but wasn't as tidy as I'd hoped, and also was a bit surprised to see some rust around the seat mountings. Wouldn't have been surprised on an older car but for a 17 plate I don't think I'd expect interior parts to be rusting yet.

Overall it seemed a good option so I'm looking at a few similar models elsewhere. The Ingenium engine seems to be predominant unfortunately, as the reports indicate that they have a habit of developing problems. Bit of a gamble I guess but apart from that the sports generally seem sound.
