as about the EGR...get rid of it ASAP...for SRS check the connection in the following plug (just dont mess with multimeter in the airbag side of it):

I've got more problems 
I've done the egr blanking kit and sorted the srs light...it was the plug mentioned above thanks
sierrafery. i drove the car for a day after i fitted the egr kit and it was good, and no smoke, the next day it smoked and their was a lot of it. I've got plumes of blue smoke. and a rough running engine above idle. when its reved hard it sounds like a thudding noise? any ideas? thanks guys
