Hi Guys

Has anyone ever completely stripped out all the trim, carpets, roof lining before and left it out?
Im part of a rally recovery crew and it gets all crappy and muddy and horrible inside after a rally, so if we did away with the interior trim we would need to try and clean carpets.
If anyone has done this or knows anyone have they got any photos?
I've seen a commercial disco stripped out but not a 7 seater.

I did on mine for a while, don't have any pictures though. It's reasonably noisey but I lived with it for several months with a 80 mile a day round trip. The other half eventually got ****ed off because every time it's slightly cold there was condensation on the roof which would roll down the roof and drip on you when braking and cornering :)
 
I'm sure you probably could, but it will be noisy. I'd probably strip out the headlining and remove all the foam / cloth and then paint, or coat.

Trim is fairly easy to loose, on the doors you could just replace with chequer plate or wood. Dash could be a bit more tricky with it holding all your electrics in.

As for carpets, I'm going to be leaving them out of mine, there is a local matting supplier who are happy to cut me some rubber mats to the size and shape I want, its fairly thick so should act as sound deadening as well, at least then I can remove them to dry without worry of them adding to the tin worm.

Mine is a 5 door and was a 7 seater. I have removed everything bar the dash board to get various bits of welding done. Its noisy as feck but it doesnt bother me that much. My only gripe is the lack of insulation creates a lot of condensation as mentioned by JdMilner above.

I plan on making my own custom head lining/overhead storage out of plywood and accoustic carpet that will be removable with a few screws but i need to get the sunroof's & alpine windows repaired first. As for the floor, im also thinking of removable rubber matting and ply lining for the footwells & boot floor respectively.
