Aaah, well, I thought I better check what connections were on my alternator, and get a closer look at it to match the fixings, and must have knocked one of the connectors. So when I was on my way to the scrappies, I noticed a bit more voltage was being shown on the meter!! so, instead of going there, I decided to go home, and remove alternator, and clean the connection s up! (which took an hour and a half! to get the thing off, and on again!) Now, it works a treat! It just needed some attention. Haha! It is a 'Voleo' I think it's been recon'd. Thanks all, and has made me realise how important it is to keep connections clean. I also changed the battery earth strap, to see if that made a difference, it didn't, but it has got to be a good thing, anyway.

After all that!!!! you bleedin plonker:doh::doh::D

Fair comment! (sheepish look), but i probably will change alternator to higher ampage, at some point when I put a split charge system in it. TBH, it is a bit of a blind spot, trying to see the connections to the alternator, and then get to the bolts, and remove it.. sort of puts me off! it was only cos I was thinking to get the new one in that I bothered, had a lot of other thing's I could have been doing! they didn't look that bad either, a bit dirty. Not sure how much I trust spade ends for that size of wire!

Problem back again!!! It only seems to be bad when I am running on LPG, so I assume the lpg is consuming some ampage in it's use, worst of all, if I am travelling back in the dark (lights on), up a hill (high revvs) (electric fan), on LPG, my battery will be almost dead in the morning. The light that goes off when the battery is charging stays on much longer when on LPG! I have now got a disco alternator, from a scrappys, spins well, just got different connections, so will try figuring out those... fingers crossed, all will be well.. I need to fit a split charge system very soon. Thanks
