hi all disco 3 58 plate starts drives but on road it strugles to accelarate out of junction or from standing start when it does go it like no power drives up to around 70 mph all air pipes are on as i can see i have replaced egr with blanking kit but still the same if not worse any help would be appreciated
theres no message or faults on dash

Diagnostics says what exactly?

No point owning a second hand D3 without having easy access to good diagnostics system to fault find.
 
Google search for seized turbo actuator and split intercooler hoses which are not always immedialtely obvious.

The garage machine may not show any faults but when test driven you can see live data, for example like boost pressures.

As said by DD69 code reader is essential bit of kit, cheap one is Icarsoft i930 and much better is Gap IID tool but thats 4x times the price.

As Brian says, live data is essential at this point if no fault codes are logged.

Something is wrong there somewhere and it would be an expensive effort to replace random components.
 
+1, really need to get it on diagnostics. I recently had similar issues & traced to a split in the large intercooler hose, hidden under the outer webbing so not visible without taking the hose off. Now replaced with a silicon hose & all good.
 
Makes me glad I've got a simple motor!
If It don't start ! Its because it's run out of petrol !!
Modern things may be comfortable with gadgets ,old things are fixed with brute force !!!
Hope you get it fixed though maytee! I can feel your frustration from here

well my fried back from down south he plugged the machine on and its down to a turbo actuator siezed he thinks so goin to have a go at that as soon as i free up the ramp with other projects
so thanks to a couple you pointing that out but had to wait on my mate comming with proper machine
i will update later

Theres some good threads with pics on the D3/4 forum showing you how to free up the actuator with a stiff bit of wire.

plus 1 what the other guys have said

may i add please, did u remove ur butterfly valve when u blanked ur egrs and cleaned out the maf sensor

daft question plse , will the new upcoming revised MOT rules apply to u in scotland , ie if the examiner sees the egrs are blanked it will fail

we just leave the egr pipes on and put a blank in between the engine block and pipe so can’t be seen

as a side note , when the turbo actuator arm really seizes it will go into limp mode and show code P132B , along with special program off on ur dashboard , also get him to check u have the updated software that when u turn ur ign on and off it motors the actuator arm back and forth , it’s to prevent it from seizing

as urs is after 2007 u would have had the extra egr software patch added, ensure if any of ur software is indeed updated that this isn’t over ridden

ok lads ive just finnished doing the actuator making sure its moving in and out which downsed in lub its seems to be working fine
swich on ignition it moves in and out swittch off ignition it mowes until it parks itself takes about 20 seconds or so

ANYWAY STILL THE SAME HAD IT WITH THIS
last work caried out was new head cams injectors and wireing
so if anyone wants a project could be an easy fix for someone with time on there hands
its a 58plate born 31/12/08 so realy an 09 thats what comes up when plugged in
its mot for a year its been on an airport all its life done 155000 mls front seat and door card could do with replacing as thats all thats been used on the car back seats and seats in boot have not had a bum on
i will also break this motor if need to

will part ex landrover defender or kawaski mule or similier or what you got had enough
i also have another 58 plate 1 there for breaking so if you need any parts got them here outskirts of edinburgh
