Disco 3 tailgate problem

Can anyone shed some light on this problem I've replaced the upper tailgate catch and cable and still will not open could it anything to do with micro switch in handle any ideas very welcome boot will not open at all.

Does the upper tailgate open using the emergency release ?

The push button unit can fill with water and the metal plate that operates the microswitch will corrode.
I don't think they are available as individual parts, you'll probably need to get a second hand tailgate handle assembly.

U had a issue with the wife's. Took me to push both parts shut really firm and then it worked. It looked shut but wasn't quite and got jammed.
As soon as I got it shut properly it worked fine.
