Anyone got an engineless 200tdi disco chassis hanging around that i could have the engine mounting brackets off of? - i need em as i'm finally getting round to fitting a disco 200tdi + box to my 110. Moneys tight so i can't afford too much, looking for a favour here for some beer tokens. I'm in the north kent area.

Is it just the mounts you are after? I have just taken some off my disco engine to put my defender mounts on..

I'm quite a way away from you though!

Im sure someone told me the other day you can buy these brackets.
Might be worth just making you own?
Its only 3mm plate.
If you want i can take some pics of my std def 200 tdi ones for you to work from?
Would the mounts from Karlos not weld to the chassis upside down to act as mounts?

Cheers for the offer but the defender ones are different i believe. I am fitting a disco engine and gearbox to my 110, the disco gearbox is longer and therefore sits further forward in the engine bay so needs the chassis brackets fitted in the right place. I want to get the correct set up, don't want me noo engine dropping out into a muddy puddle somewhere:p

You use the ones that you currently have. Cut them off move them forward and weld, then use the engine mounts from your old engine.. Or at least that's how I was guna do it, seems alot easier as you have all of the bits already.

I reckon thats the way.
Dont do what my mate did and used the disco mounts from the disco chassis, what a pain in the arse that was!
They are huge so probably a smoother ride.

I cut the old chassis mounts off and rewelded them further up the chassis then put the TD engine mounts on the Disco 200 and dropped it in.

All pipes then fit e.g. oil cooler, hoses... You have to tilt the rad back about two inches and lower it or as I did, re weld the bottom rad mounts further forward on the bottom of the rad frame which brings the rad back to the pipes.:)

should'nt need to mass with that , i put a 200tdi disco in my 90 td all you have to do is bolt the td mounts (engine mounts not chassis mounts) onto the 200tdi it should go straight back where the td engine was

Disco box pushes engine further up chassis.:)

cheers for the replies, glad to see that others have successfully done this, i was beginning to think i was the first one:eek: and it might not work.

Cutting and moving existing brackets sounds a lot easier, i wonder if the disco mounts would slot into em when they are in the right place or are the brackets on disco chassis a differnet shape?
