Couldn't agree more! Facelift in silver FTW!

Soon to have black mods... and a soft nudge A Bar if I ever find one!

I want Orch's muds.... but i don't think I need that extreme yet!!

Mine's standard. Well, it has a few extras. As soon as I saw it, I had to have it. This was after I was talked out of a V8 in black.

Nudge bar! ive just fit mine 2 years putting the brackets on, was thinking it was going to look silly, but no i like it, took me ages to find it brand new, ebay special, got it when i wasn't looking, if you know what i mean!! but silver is a good colour, doesn't show the muck up the same as a dark one, which i have now!!! but no rust!!!:)

I had one of those rubber A-bar things on the front of my latest TD5 but I didn't like it - it looks so clumsy !

Sold it on the 'net easy peasy.

mine actually isn't rubber, it is metal, Genuine Land rover, the one on my previous silver car was a rubber one, started to go rough like the rest of the trim etc

i actually put it on ebay in july gone, £400 buy it now i got an offer of £350, but i couldn't be bothered and really hadn't the time to take the bumper off to get the brackets back off, so removed it from ebay

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I’ve been trawling the searches and this was the closest I’ve got to my issue.

I’ve just had fitted 265/60/18 AT2s on monodials and was told that they wouldn’t scrub when I bought them but they do. Old tyres were 255/55/18 road tyres so the increase isn’t massive but I was wondering if 30mm spacers will sort the problem without needing a lift kit?
SLS and Ace is still fitted so hoping that doesn’t affect the decision as to fit spacers or not.

Last thing I want is to ruin the tyres or me truck through scrubbing. Thanks for your replies

Depending on how badly they scrub? You could adjust your lock stops to prevent contact, costs nothing more than 10 mins with a spanner but you might end up with the turning circle of a barge? Spacers might seem a cheap and easy solution, but you increased the radius by 5% adding almost 40mm and 10mm on the width, not sure what that translates to in terms of contact with the wheel arches under articulation?

If you did go with spacers then you best tell your insurance company and regularly check the spacer nuts for torque as they do add another point of failure and being hidden by a wheel isn't an excuse not to check them regularly.

Interesting posts guys , just bought a solid 2003 D2 currently on 255/55/18 stock alloy rims . Solid base car I do have a transfer case with cdl in the store for a rainy weekend or more.

1 Just for clarity what can I go up to max on these rims without cutting etc etc , happy to fit spacers if needed.but don’t know what is necessary .
2 keep reading about scrub radius not really understanding it, any advice please.
3 I’m trying to understand what to do first , a lift of 2 inches or a tyre / rim upgrade or if I can use original rims with larger side wall tyres. If so what’s the best combo.

Car being prepped for a trip into Morocco so 3000km on road and about 400 km off-road

Already purchased diff guards , rack etc but can’t decide what’s the best order to avoid wasting money, As the ex took it all .

Cheers all Stwus

Fair point, the scrubbing isn’t horrendous I just don’t want to ruin me £700 investment but I also don’t want to use spacers and create other issues. Just hoping someone may of had the same issue as me and knows the simple answer.
