Disco 2 TD5 Transmission High temp warning light

We have the said warning light coming on after about 5 min of driving ( so soon as engine is up to temp).
This light will only or flickering at low revs (such as at idle) but as soon as revs are up it goes out. Any ideas?

Can anyone also please tell me where the sensor is situated for this as I found none at he oil cooler side under the intercooler

So how comes that the pic in your post is from an auto? if your friend's vehicle is manual that warning is not conneted but the wiring might be there and shorting out
