Hi All, I’m new here and have just bought my first Land Rover a TD5 Disco 2 (have had a lot in the family).
I’m not sure if I’m being oblivious, stupid or just plain ignorant.
I love my first Disco and it was working perfectly apart from the front and middle interior lights weren’t working but the one in the boot was. I decided to change the bulbs (simple fix). I started with the front light and there was no bulb in place so I popped one in and it worked. I switched it off and it wouldn’t come back on and neither did the working one in the boot. Also, the vehicle was immobilised (after locking and unlocking it will start) however the radio doesn’t work at all and the Heater controls have to be switch on every time. Also just to ad, if I take the key out and go to start without locking or unlocking then it was immobilise again.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated and I’m pulling my hair out 🤦🏼‍♂️
And I have checked every fuse and none are blown! … PLEASE HELP!!!! 🙏🏼

Hi, double check fuse F20 interior fusebox and if it's good check for +12V against earth on the purple wire in any of the interior lamps if no power we'll speak then, this circuit has to to with immobiliser too ... at a scale from 1 to 10 at what level are you with electrical troubleshooting skills?

Hi, thanks for your reply!
I’ll check in the morning, and get back to you. I am 99% sure that F20 fuse is intact when I checked today.
As with my electrical troubleshooting skills, I’m probably at a 4 out of ten 👀

check the relevant headers for water ingress

Hi, welcome to the asylum, if you take the key out of the ign. switch it WILL re-immobilise itself after approx 30 secs. this is normal but when you put the key in the ign. switch it (the immobiliser) 'should' disarm itself.

Yes you are right, provided the passive remobilisation exciter coil has power to trigger the fob while it seems that there is no power there cos the coil is on the same circuit with the non working things in the title all of them powered by F20 which if it's not blown there is an interruption somewhere on that path(within the fusebox or beyond it)

Hi all, firstly I just like to thank you all so much for your support, I really appreciate it all!
Going off your replies I have been playing around with it today checked the connections to and from the fuse box couldn’t real see anything major all having 12v power where necessary. I also disconnected the wires from the Interior light and have taped them safe. Once everything went back together I thought I’d just try one last time and it all seems to be working! 🙌🏼🙏🏼👏🏼
Unfortunately, I can’t pinpoint at what stage it decided to work but I’m going to take it as a small win for now 👍🏼
Thanks again all, I hope I can repay the favour at some point!
