Hi.
Fairly new to the forum, however have owned my 2004 Disco 2 for 7 years with no major issues. Now got a big issue with the rear chassis failing its MOT. Needs a big weld and considering a replacement 1/2 chassis. Any recommendations for companies who can do a good supply and fit deal. I am in Scotland but happy to travel.
Thanks in advance
Davie.

My rear arb crossmember is terrible, not on many part chassis.

Since a very huge loan finishes soon, going to properly get mine fixed.

I got my half-chassis about 4 1/2 years ago! But cant find the recipe for it yet!!

Cost was about £750 (at that time!). Took a couple of weekends to fix on.

Have a look around??
But! As above! Post some pics? Lots on LZ will let you know if ok to weld of replace!!

Kev

Never been off the road. I was under it couple of months ago replacing the watts linkage and never saw it. Not sure how much surface rust was maybe knocked off by the tester to reveal it, but it was a bit of a shock when I saw it.

You will need a serious look at you chassis to see if a 1/2 chassis is long enough and confirm its solid and will take a weld at the cut/joining point
Yes the plan is to have a good look at the rest of the chassis and bulkhead to see if it's worth it. Was initially just looking for reccomendations for anyone who has done the 1/2 chassis and recommendations.
Don't think I would spend the money on a full chassis replacement. 😳

do you have any other photo's, , is the other side of the hole in good condition, and whats the rest of the chassis like going to the rear as that where they normaly go, as I mwondeering can you take off the bady mount the using 3 mm plate weld in a repair section, or two
