What possible upgrade is massive wheels and wide arches?

Before the offroad "experts" jump down my throat, a shooting vehicle shouldn't have to walk up mountains, so in my humble opinion cutting up one of the last low mileage D1 v8's is sacrilege..

I'd buy a fourtrak if thats what you want..

How many D1's do you see on the road nowadays?

Fook all because they've either been abused, parted out or destroyed unnecessarily offroad.

Both my Range Rover and D2 could pull loaded trailers across fields on stock tires and suspension... :) they could both tackle green lanes too without much effort.

Looks like it's using the original speedo, geared down so that 1km/h becomes 1mph. In which case, the accumulated km should have been corrected to the equivalent number of miles at the same time. Otherwise, the mileage will have accumulated some distance at 1/km in Japan, then started counting up at 1/mile once imported.
It was original speedo converted to actual mileage at time of import as I know the previous owner.
Mot until December 2020

:):)
Normally I would say this is true, ut if the guy who owned it was a cop? Past MOT mileages? On gov.uk.
I also have a D1 V8 lpg conversion and would love to be able to drive it, but the lpg conversion was never regictered and I won't fidle my insurance. so if yours has got proper registration I'd say you have goe a gem there. Although the wheels look as rough as a camel's asre.
My personal prejudice in favour of manual cars prevents me from offering you cash for it but it is still a nice vehicle.
Yea it was a professional installation and all properly registered :)

If you read my original post you’ll see that’s why I put it on here for advice as it seems to nice to butcher.
I shoot a lot of forestry land and ground clearance is king hence the big tyres and wider stance also John the farmer isn’t just down the road in his tractor to pull you out in a lot of the areas I shoot.

There should be tracks in between the blocks of trees.
I know, I planted quite a few of them! :)

Cheers for all the advice and info guys, still not really sure what’s it worth. Average d1’s with 130k+ and a test seem to go for around £1200 - £1500 so if that’s the value of it as suggested then..... I know it won’t be popular on here but with what I’ve got in it and being a good base vehicle for what I need I would probably keep it. I just doesn’t make sense to me to sell it and then spend the same money buying something else which isn’t as good and cause me a lot more work and money to get right.

I read the post, and have experience with all kinds of land,i live ont' farm

My D2 can handle the fields no issue, the idea of ruining yet another D1 seems pointless, you can buy an already butchered Diesel for a few hundred quid, a low mile good V8 can go for £2800 and up.. :)

Then you’ll know how rutted those tracks get from the machinery and trucks that use them :)
I do, much too much for a 4wd. Which is why we used tractors.
Modifying a land rover is a waste of time and money, unless you want to go trialling or drive in comp safari.
You will gain about 3 inches under the axle with the biggest tyres you can get, and spacing the wheels out wide will probably make the vehicle unsafe, and both will overload the drive train.
If you want to drive bad terrain in very wet conditions, spend the money on a 4wd Tractor, a Unimog, or an Argocat instead. They are actually made to do that job.
Land Rovers are a dual purpose vehicle, with some off road capability.

Agreed mate, I’ve had a few D2’s and love them, even with all there faults lol. I’ve currently got a 03 plate es v8 on 130k which is solid but just costing to much to run at 15mpg ish hence the reason I got the d1 on gas but like I said I think it’s to nice to do what I intended and the reason for this post, if it’s worth reasonable money and can go to someone who will appreciate more what it’s is then that is exactly what will happen ;)

So in one post you say I need nothing more than a standard 4x4 then the next I need a tactor, unimog or argo, I’m not here for an argument or to justify myself, I’ve been doing what I’m doing for more than 20 years and I am well aware of what I need and what suits my purpose. I’m going to leave our conversation hear as I’m only here for some friendly advice and not an argument but thank you for your input and have a good day :)

What pics would you like mate? I can try and get some tomorrow and send them over.

Hi bud sorry I missed this?? How much do you want for the disco & do you really want to sell it. They are not worth big
money as you probably know, its nice to see them in standard form but its also a good base to start a nice build its your
motor to what you want with it. Shame to make it into a shoot vehicle as it will end up knackered but they are very capable.
Ive butchered all sorts over the years  but they were a bit rough to start with so no great
loss. I do have a load of disco parts that I stripped from my abandoned project (that's another story) No v8 engine parts though.:)

Price I am willing to discuss with anyone genuinely interested over the phone, I will say £1500 wouldn’t buy it tho..... at that money I’d rather keep it for what I need. I see no point in selling it for what it would cost me to get something worse. I have a price in mind what I think it’s worth and I’m willing to take and I think is very fair for what it is. I’ve got it on a ramp and going to take pictures when I get home later and can send them on if you dm your number mate. There have been another couple of guys who have contacted me about it and one was before yourself so I would give him first refusal on it.
