Well a few months ago I made what I thought was a safer decision for my family as the old disco has a few quirks shall we say and we live in the country I got a 3 year old Disco 3. Now just after its 30k service it needs some bushes on the suspension arm replaced as its knocking plus there is a worrying vibration via the steering wheel when you take your foot of the accelerator. What i dont understand is my old 300tdi still has original front bushes on (ok rplaced the rear last year) but its got 115k on the clock and 17years old plus been abused as a offroader / family car. So whats happening to the new discos are they not build to last or are they just to heavy and complicated. Must say I prefer the old bus hence got a 20 year old one on ebay and going for a rebuild to replace the D3
