The OE clutch is under 100 at Craddocks, as for the fork, is your old one cracked? mine is but its taken over 100K to crack it so i think another standard one will do, thats a tenner a JC...

Oh Im not advertising JC, he's just close, I prefer to go elsewhere but it was convenient today...

i haven't seen yet, its been too fkcn cold for me to remove it yet,
gonna get out there tommorow, and have a gander,
reason i was checking out re inforced forks was simply following a few possible clutch problem diagnoses whilst bored really, and maybe getting a little bit ahead of myself, wanting to do a top dollar job and all that, you know all the gear, no idea..!:eek: :D

It aint that hard, Im still doing mine 'cos its too bleedin cold to be out there too long, but if you know its just a clutch that you need you can just drop the gearox onto the cross member and make enough room to work without all the lifting.

I took my gearbox out 'cos I was convinced the box was f****d..

Startin puttin it all back tomorrow.
 
i was gonna ask u that, i was around xmas 'eve going to take the whole lot out, just for the sake of it, but it is probably best to go with what you've done, what with weather, and i need to get back on road with it ASAP as thankfully i have some new work contracts(which of couse 'll pay for the job and a new rear prop shaft, which i boogered removing.).

if you're out there,
need some advice,
finally got the clutch gear of car,
Clutch fork and release bearing still stuck on gear shaft,(clutch fork split and penetrated by pivot,)
How do i get these off?
I viewed the rave manual and the fork diagram with securing nut and bolt isn't on my unit, i am at a bit of a loss again now, can't see how mine should come off, also can't work out how to shift release bearing?
Any pointers, etc.?
 
seems that way,
iknow for one i'll have to prize it off the pivot with a claw on hammer,
seems to be secured on gear shaft with, little pads, looking at alternative forks in Rave manwell.
Knock them out too? 'ameer stylee?

I only just found your post, you should of mailed me.

It must come off, there is nothing holding it on the gearbox shaft now only crud, so WD or similar, push or tap it back and forth, it'll come without much trouble.
 
no worries,
popped it off today,
main problem was that it'd become lodged on the pivot, where it had been penetrated(ooow!:eek: ),
levered it off,
can see it's simple to refit now, so thanks for getting back to me, didn't think to PM ya.
 
Tip, from my mistake. fit the plastic clip and push rod before to put the box back. i didn't and to do it through the cylinder hole is an education, LOL

you can get a re-enforced lever if you wish too, only a couple of quid dearer than the standard although i didn't bother. it's taken 16 years to break the last one, reckon another 16 will be VERY lucky LOL :)
 
yes, very much so. you've seen the clip now, imagine fitting it using your finger tips, through a hole only two inches diameter and unable to see, its fun :rolleyes: its so easy to break off the clip legs.

My idea was to get ME out of the mire and it was remarkable successful but a better idea is to put it on before you put the gearbox up, or maybe once up but before you close the gap...
