Disco 1 door spring

I’m trying to fix the dreaded lock spring on a 3 door disco 1. The configuration on all the videos seems different to mine. Can anyone tell me, to remove the lock mechanism do I need to raise the window runners. I think I’ve done the necessary linkages but cat get the lock out. ( maybe I missed one?) But it looks like it might sit partly behind the window guide. Door it bits, just want to get it finished!!!
Update! I got the mechanism out but on inspection there is nothing wrong with the spring, not even slightly corroded. Does this mean the only other reason for a unresponsive door lock is a faulty actuator?

When I done mine I removed the window and runners complete with frame,
Yes I know they say you don’t have too but with it all out of the way it’s much easier imo,

Sometimes the actuator on my Disco1's back door just can't be arsed to work. Clicking the remote twice goads it into life.

If you wish to fixit, then access the actuator and slightly release the actuator retaining plate 4 screws then move the plate left or right very slightly to find the sweet spot where the actuator functions correctly every time, then tighten the screws. Its just a simple readjustment.

The symptoms for an iffy lock spring are totally different.

On closer inspection after putting it back together I noticed the cam/collar on the back of the lock barrel was damaged with a section missing. Would this stop the lock from activating the actuator as I’m now not convinced the actuator is broken.

Nope, the master actuator is linked to drivers door lock mechanically.
The cam plus its micro switch is part of the vehicles security system.

Right. So this cam would affect the central locking system? possibly by not operating the micro switch effectively?

Nope, just the alarm and immobiliser if fitted, depending on model year there could be two cams operating via the lock barrel.
Its the master actuator that controls the central locking, manually via the door key, or via the door top pin, or remotely via the security ecu.
