Although i'm new to this place, ive been doing plenty SEARCHing and reading, im gonna do a thread to what ive done/doing with my disco to help others and cause i notice you like your photies...

Heres the disco as i got her, working disco from a local farm.

It has standard size insa turbo dakars on the rear and general grabber ats on the front. these will be for sale when the new tyres go on as there is great tread on them.

There was a terrible condensation problem, it was full of mice poo and cobwebs and smelt terrible. I ripped all the carpets and rubber flooring out which were waterlogged and chucked them in the tip.this solved the smell and condensation problem. the floor underneath is surprisingly solid.

I changed the oil and filter and the rocker cover gasket, air filter and fuel filter, I have a timing belt kit to do soon.

I replaced the rubber ring on this and put a bit of sealant on it whilst i was doin the rocker gasket as it seemed to be leaking oil over the engine.

The rear wheel and carrier has also come off as i like it without.

The passenger side window had come off its runner, quite a simple fix and the passenger door handle has snapped so this is next having acquired a cheap one on ebay.

Having read loads of advice on this forum the last few days I have decided on and ordered a +2 terrafirma mini dislocation lift kit, +2 terrafirma light load springs, steering damper, trailing arms and other bit and bobs and 265/75r16 cooper discoverer stt's on steels and will detail these further when all the bits arrive and i start to fit.

meanwhile im spraying all the nuts and bolts with plus gas penetrating oil in advance of the lift going on. looks like the grinder may have to come out tho.

Excellent not bad at all and look good as it is. U can see the condensation in your first pic, a power wash will get most of the muck off underneath then u can start spraying with anti rust.
Interesting to know who the first owner was as that green was not a 'street wise' colour as the metallics were so maybe it was a land owner in the Highlands as I have only see two before a RR and a disco and the Queen had both. :D

Awesome, cheers discool. It's a cracking colour. Is it possible to find out the first owner seeing as only the previous owner is on the reg doc? I myself am a landowner in the Highlands owning approx 1 square foot in a forest in argyle given as a novelty xmas gift lol, even get to legally use the term laird.
Davesdisco gets condensation with carpets taken out? Is that after you've been up the woods at night? ;-) lol.

giggle if only i was that lucky

Been spraying the plusgas on all the nuts and bolts to be removed the last 5 days in anticipation of the lift getting done this weekend. will continue spraying it on, with all this hopefully things will go smooth and all nuts will come off easy. haha yeah right.

meantime I had a look at the drivers seat tonight cause it was like sitting on the floor it was so sunken. this is what it looked like underneath, so i unclipped the cloth trim and the netting had split from the hooked bar. no need to take the whole seat out.

I got the duck tape out and gave it a few layers

then covered it with ice hockey stick tape which is also quite strong

put it back under the foam, hooked it back on, couple cable ties for added strength jobs a dream, like sitting on a cloud lol. had to readjust the mirrors i was sitting so high up.

next up for fixing is the snapped passenger door handle.

Im looking forward to following this thread. Good luck mate and keep the pics coming. :)

Looks rust free inside but that's hiding a rust riddled rear chassis unfortunately. Rust patched over then waxoyled by a previous owner and is eating itself from the inside out. Gutted. Was going so well.
