With respect, I was refering to the 'not included' illuminated dial for the speedometer, not the headlamp level up/down switch (left of steering wheel).
For some reason the thumbwheel (on any MK1 Freelander in the UK) is not fitted with a speedo illumination wheel, and only a silver blanking plate in the facelift.
Due to this I ordered a switch, and I got my part delivered from America and see it has a space for plug on it with metal contact, meaning it must be functional.
I think the next step is to consider asking an American Freelander enthusiast (somehow) if their speedometer has a plug on the back to connect to this switch, and if so, can the UK car have one fitted?
