Diggys 300tdi Disco 1 build thread.

Well its about time I started a build thread, always a good read and allows me to show my progress. Always been one for trying to change as much of the car to really make it mine.
Lack photos of how it started was pretty normal discovery minus the light bar


As the paint was quite rough and that fact I'd wanted a satin black car for a while there was only one thing to do next.

This took a lot longer than I'd expected being a hot summers day the paint was like tar and didn't get exactly the finish I wanted but it was acceptable.


Next was a 2" suspension lift and a different set of wheels as they had better tyres on them. Plus a front bumper trim.

Well next was time to repair things, my head gasket failed and cracked my cylinder head so resulted in this.

A couple of days of fun


Mot time was approaching so I went out and got myself a welder, never welded before so was a bit of a learning curve, not neat but done the job, don't have pictures of all the finished welds for some reason

Started to get some uneven braking so after inspecting I found this!

Disk has sheared straight off the hub.

MOT time


As it passed it was time to treat it a little with some new wheels and tyres




Also snorkel for all the deep puddles. As I'd removed the land rover badge at the front it got a new orange sticker

good start, im sure there will be many more mods for you..welding doesn't look bad either to say you've never done it before

Thanks guys. Going to my first pay and play next month so got a few things on the list that need done before then.

Today was time to fix my exhaust it split a few weeks ago and id decided id weld this myself. Id bought one of the flexy pipes so i could do my side exit but it didnt even last 6 months.


Tac welded all into place to see how it lined up.


All fitted with a bit of old suspension spring as hanger worked a treat.
