Differential Oil.

What sort of Oil do i need to change the Diff oil and how easy is it to do???

Or go for a multi-grade, most oil companies have a search facility just enter your vehicle details and get all the info on oil stuff u require even Halfords have one and will also sell u a book on how to change it.

Castrol Syntrax (semi synth) or Syntrans (fully synth) approx 1.7 litres per diff. Readily available at Halfrauds. Make sure you buy some replacement filler plugs before attempting, the plastic ones tend to refuse to come out and need to be chiselled off (both of mine did), defender brass radiator plugs fit snugly.

Getting the oil in is a doddle, the castrol bottles come with a filler tube so you can just squirt it in. Run the car about for a bit before draining as the old stuff comes out better when warm. Clean the magnet off on the drain plug, its normal for it to have some metal filing sludge on. Fill on level ground, you stop when a bead of oil starts to run out of the filler hole. (obvously you need to refit the drain plugs before filling )

Have some threadlock to hand for when you refit the drain plugs.
