All the info in the forum searches talks about changing wheel rim sizes but I only need to change my front tyres (255/55 R18) and am thinking of putting General Grabber AT2 in place of the Goodyear Wranglers. The rears don't need changing yet (another 6 to 12 months?). Is there a problem with the different style of tire front & back?

hi. i have a td5 with wranglers on the front that need replacing and maxims [ similar to wranglers] on the rear that have only done about 3000 miles so i am only looking to replace the fronts,as it was crap up hills in the snow and ice i had a word with my local tyre dealer who i have known for year's recommended general grabbers for the snow and said it would be ok to put them on the front with the the maxims on the rear.only problem is the grabbers are out of stock at the moment and would take a week or so to order in.

Yeah - Grabbers, wranglers, BFG AT's - all seem to be out of stock at the moment. The snow monster must have eaten them all. I think I'm going for grabbers (if I can find some) on the front now and replace the rears later with the same. Thanks for the help.:)
