Did you determine if the nose was coming from the front or the back as if it's a diff it could have varying different noises when going up or down hill under load etc as I had experienced . I had a noise which I thought was coming from around the transfer box ,and earlier thought it might have been from the front as I had done a lot of work on the brakes,disks and balljoints, but had a friend lie low in the back and out the door as we went through various motions. Pretty soon he diagnosed the back .We drained what was left of the rear diff., which turned out to be a small drop of watery oil. Replacement used but good diff cost me 100,a pair of seals 2.50 and gear oil . The way it's driving now makes me think it had been going for a while..
