Diff Lock Not Engaging

If anyone is interested. The solution was to replace and properly adjust the diff lock switch on the top of the tranny. So, yes an old, faulty, missadjusted diff lock switch can foul the mechanism. Works a treat now:D

(Thread resurected in the hope of helping someone searching this in future).

Piccy's would have been good  :nopics: :rulez:

I gave someone a right ragging cos he thought he could adjust his diff lock.
Never occured to me that the diff lock switch on top of the tranny might be adjustable.

Don't forget you can also adjust the amount of movement/throw on the difflock lever on the top of the tranny box by adjusting the lenght of the pivot point on the pivot arm.:D

I believe I have the same issue, or maybe not since with diff unlocked both wheels jacked the opposite goes the other way.
With lock engaged holding one wheel the other cannot be turned.
Initially the lock light would not go out.
This is like the 2nd or third test drive on the road after taking vehicle apart bolt by bolt panel by panel new bolts new paint rear diff rebuilt new axles etc.
The diff lock was always hard to move R & L which I thought was normal?
Now it goes easily right & left in & out of lock.
Maybe I just had a stuck light.
Maybe I need to remove cover & look.
I just got all that back together, 5 years.
Thanks
