I've just had a replacement gearbox and transfer box on my Disco, but the diff-lock light doesn't operate.

I'm told the switch on the transfer box needs to be adjusted when the difflock is engaged - so the switch is turned until the dash light illuminates, then the lock-nut tightens it in place...

Anyone else had to do this?

BTW - oil light problem on another thread was the pressure switch, many thanks for the response.

Have you verified that the diff lock is engaging and that the wires have been connected on top of the transfer box?
Also, on my 200tdi, I need to drive along a bit after engaging difflock before the light comes on.

OK Grunt, and?

The Guy at "JP Land" here in France suggested the above, and the old transfer box that came off seems to have a lock-nut-type of electrical connection?

I guess I should phone Ashcrofts where I sourced them from....

Are you sure tour looking at the right switch the reverse light switch is identical.

Getting at it is the biggest problem. Even more so on a Disco. I'd double check the bulb, and make sure there's not continuity to an earth from the earth side of the bulb when it's engaged, bearing in mind Jbarlows bit about it not engaging immediately, before pulling anything apart.
