Diff guards etc

As I've got the green laning bug but not the cash to buy a dedicated off roader I want to keep on using my P38. It proved pretty capable last time out and I'm not looking to do some mad rock climbing or deep water work so with a little work I'd hope she'll prove up to the task. Thing is it proves prudent to me to fit some extra protection. I was thinking diffs,steering and maybe fuel tank. Thing is the market isn't awash with P38 off road goodies. Anybody got any suggestions?

Look up 996 turbo, he does a complete range of off road stuff for the P38. www.rr-evolution.com

I spotted at least two listings for P38 diff guards when reading the last issue of LRO - can't remember the names of the companies now.

I would put a lift kit on it or you will scrape the rear quarter panels .

That won't be happening. Like I said I'm not planning on going mad and in standard trim it really is quite amazing what she will do.

I saw p38 at Slindon once ripped the rear quater right off as he down a hill into a valley as he went up the hill the bottom of the pannel got snagged ripped it to pieces

Just be careful of Gate Posts....

Happens around 10:30 into the vid....damage seen at 13:00 I was a bit gutted, but that's the price of Greenlaning, that plus all the timy micro-scratches all along the car!

Scratches and little dings are to be expected I guess.My P38 spent most of it's life travelling on Cornish lanes and has a fair few already!! As for ripping quarter panels off, sounds like he was travelling to fast for the given obstacles/conditions.

i green lane my quite regular and it more than copes with anything it goes up against just as a standard motor but if you want to get more height out of it have a look at this Lifting the Air Suspension http://www.rangerovers.net/rrupgrades/index.html

Converted mine to bearmach +2'' coil kit, excellent on road and off road. No complaints.

You mean the part of the bumper cover that wraps around i hope. The rear quarter panel is the entire panel from the rear door to tail gate and from roof to sill. Ripping that off would be a little on the difficult side.

You can go up 2" at the touch of a button with the EAS and still have stability and comfort on the road.

Plus another 3/4 of an inch or so if the system detects the car is grounded.

even on coils it still very comfortable on the road and I don't want my air suspension failing while I'm going down a greenlane!

Wouldn't fancy a trip down the fast lane of the M1 with a 2" lift
