Good afternoon

Looking for experience and advice with regards to fitting a diesel heater, I have a 110 hardtop that I’m half way into doing a camper conversion.
Ideally I was thinking about installing the heater in one of the external stainless boxes that can be bolted to the chassis or maybe in the rear wheel arch to save space inside and avoid having the fuel line and exhaust entering the vehicle.
One of my concerns is wading, can the heater be in a 100% sealed box
Also is there any models people can recommend or avoid

Thanks in advance

I think people have fitted them behind the front seats on that flat panel, that way all the smelly bits are outside the living space.

I fitted a cheap chinese one to our boat, have to say I was impressed.
The usual named makes are better quality, but they are also several times the price.

Go for a 2kw heater, they put out plenty of heat and are smaller than the 5kw versions.
They will fit in the tool box under the driver's seat and the hot air pipe can go out of the back of the tool box and up in front of the rear bulkhead between the front seats. Put a vent on the tool box lid to allow the intake air in. (Not the combustion intake.)
They will tolerate a little water, but I would put a bag over the combustion intake and a bung in the exhaust if I was wading above floor level.
