Fault first appeared is the key. Could have first appeared 2000 miles ago then resurfaced at 115,000.
Exactly.
I nearly went legal on my P38 when the engine number did not match the V5 and there were lots of bad things happening.
The dealer "fixed" the problems and it turned out the V5 was in error and the engine number was as per factory records.

Yep for sure, i have come across errors in the DVLA records before now.

Although the reason I questioned it.
Is because after 800 miles.
I have a turbo rod gone and a parking brake complete seizure. And water in fuel.. Oh dear..

That sounds normal. That the electronic park brake? Unless it is cleaned regularly it breaks. Turbos are often lunched too.
The defence is is wasn't driven enough.
The emergency loop won't budge it either.
It's stuck on my drive looking very sorry poor thing.
Thank god we have another car.

If the mileage is stored in the ecu & the ecu has been replaced for what ever reason this could explain the mileage.
Modern motors have the mileage stored in the key, Merc, Bmw....not sure about yours even this can be changed if you have the right gear.
