Hi Everyone
I’ve had my Freelander 2 HSE 2008 for 3 years - absolutely love it.
Last week whilst driving I had a warning “terrain response system not working”, moments later the car decelerated from 50 to about 30 and then was fine. It felt like something had grabbed the axle, then let go. I booked it in today at my local garage and they came up with these diagnostic codes:
U0138-00 lost comms with all terrain control module
U0418-68 invalid data from the brake system control module
C0061-64 lateral acceleration sensor signal plausibility failure.
They suggested I take it to a LR specialist garage. Before I do, any advice or help is most appreciated!
Thank you!

I had the slowing down thing, which turned out to be the rear diff seizing up. I ignored it initially, only to have the rear wheels lock up at 40, which was very scary.

I'd strongly recommend getting the rear diff oil checked for metallic particulates, which would show the tail bearing is breaking up.
The codes could have been generated when the rear wheels slowed.

With the lateral acceleration code it certainly does sound like it slowed and the codes are a result rather than the cause. LR really should do a recall on the diff failures and seizures. Certainly a good place to start, Nodge should know he was driving when his seized!!

Ah, thank you. I’ll get that checked.
