Gonna re name this southwest pub meet ;)

Hold ya horses bob, let's get an idea of where everyone Is first, might be easier to stick It on the border if we get a good turnout rather than making it devon only.

Back online now, so i can at least get something together now, give us a couple of days and i'll work out some places etc

Cheers

Right then, we got some in the north of Devon, some in the apple chucking county and some of the pasty munchers, and me in SE Devon.

From somerset it's onto the M5 and off at some point, for the Cornwall it's up on the A38 and for the Devon lot, green laning wherever possible :p

Seriously though, i've been scanning google maps for abit and i'm still abit stumped as to where to have this meet up, a day would be a good idea, meet up around mid morning/lunchtime and break out a BBq or something similar ( i can get hold of one ). I was thinking maybe somewhere where we can brings kids ( if anyone wants to ) and the missus ofc and have something going on around us like park etc.
Beer is ofc a good idea, especially bringing the better halves to drive us home again ;)

So thinking caps on folks, give us some idea where there is a decent place to meet without restrictions to me burning down local forestry areas with me BBQ skills n such.

I like the idea of the Dartmoor as there's plenty to do if you like walking and staring at sheep and some nice pubs in the area etc.

I won't available till the end of the month/early next month though, so i'm looking at the beginning of October in all honesty.

If this is too much and your more happy to just meet at a local pub for a beer or 2, then say so and i'll tone it down abit.

Cheers

Had an idea folks whilst over there the other day, how about Bovey Tracey?

Within a mile radius we have

  • Trago Mills ( for any shopping the wifey's want to do )
  • A 4x4 Pay n play ( next to Trago Mills )
  • A country Park ( for the BBQ )
  • A decent Landrover place ( Brookwells )
  • A pub or 2

A few more details:

Trago Mills has a play park attached to it, shed loads for kids ( and adults ) to do, farm stuff etc.

The P&P 4x4 website is here, never done it myself but heard good things about it:
Off Road Zone : 4x4 Track by Trago Mills, Newton Abbot, Devon, they do a day's pay n play which includes paintballing as well if you're into it ;)

Country park info: Stover Country Park , I've got to check on the BBQ situation first though.

Land Rover place: Brookwells, web addy: Land Rover Parts, Accessories and Spares From Brookwells , nice bunch and open on a sunday.

If we go for this then it's gotta be a Sunday for the P&P course ( i don't think they do a mid week, but will find out for sure ) but there's loads to do within it all, drop the kids n wifeys n such if they come over at Trago and we can go play :D Afterwards we can grab something to eat at the country park if you like and pop over to brookwells if you need owt.

i may be intreasted as its only an hours away for me to, wont be able to come in the beast as its tranny box is out( sad times) but might pop up in my work van.
