Thought I had better introduce myself to the tread. I have been invited to come along but not had a chance to come say hello sooner. I believe I have been put down as Pagin 2 (Jon's friend)

Very much looking forward to this trip as I haven't been laning in this area before.

:welcome2:

There are some really good lanes.

Just realised my MOT on my 90 runs out on the 2nd, wouldn't it be a sad day if I had to drop out?!

I'm gonna pay to get my handbrake cable done I think, I just don't have the enthusiasm to do it myself!

Howdy, Jon said you'd be coming along too. :D Should be a good day out i hope.

I put you down as Jon's friend as he didn't give me details!

And that would be bad, if you couldn't make the event you sorted! :(

Whoa! Be interesting to see how much they charge for changing the handbrake cable.

Pagin, the dirt will probably hold your lights in place mate..... ;)

Smoking was cool in '86 alright? hehehe

I don't know about anyone else, but if I was coming from ashborune to get to the other side of bakewell, matlock would be out of the way slightly.
I'm not sure what route James was thinking of convoying though?

Bit of a late reply but I had a great day out on Sunday, with James, checking some of the lanes. We did 16 out of the 30 I've planned for the 7th and, weather permitting, I reckon the time it took us bodes well for doing all 30 on the day:) A quick thanks to James for getting me off my backside and out on a lanes run again :clap2:
Some of the lanes are a bit overgrown, some suffering from fallen trees/branches and some just bloody tight. Because of this there is the possibility of some minor cosmetic damage, but we'll have a chat about that on a lane by lane basis on the day. I'll also post some more detailed info a few days beforehand when we'll know if snow is going to play a part. Two or three lanes have the potential for more serious body modification if you get it wrong but, again, we'll chat more about that on the day. There will always be an easy to follow road based detour if someone doesn't want to risk a particularly scratchy lane.
There is one petrol station on the route, and a couple not far off it, but plan on arriving with enough fuel on board for approx 90 miles, a fair bit of which will be in low box.
Pity it's not this weekend, I'm all excited now:D
Quick pic of James in action on one of the trickier lanes...

I'll be going through Matlock as I'll be fuelling up at mozzers in Belper on the way, hoping for a diet bacon sanger before we start to:D

Def having a cooked breakfast beforehand, the breakfasts in the cafe looked great :D

I won't be going through Matlock, up the a515 for me.

im coming from bury in lancs so a little trek for me setting out at 6ish so see you for brekie

Thanks Ian, it was great fun :)

I wont quote your post so it doesn't fill the thread.

I got the route working in basecamp (it looks good), so will see if I can translate it to memory maps. Does one other person have a tablet with memory maps (or something similar) with os maps that could maybe lead the third group if we get enough people? If not ill see if I can print something out...

Mot is booked tomorrow, so should have plenty of time to fix anything.

Sounds awesome, 90 miles? We driving to Liverpool?

I don't mind doing any lane, love to try, especially the challenging ones! Though if you think that the Disco might not fit, let me know, she's a big old girl! Don't want to wimp out....

I don't have any Map OS software, though will look around tonight. Recommendations?
