As title says, is Denso any good?
I have got to order a new alternator today and i appear to mainly have a choice of OEM for £££££££££, Denso for around £130 mark or ****part for £90ish.

I have also looked on the forum sponsors web site which does not say what the make is, so if anyone from famous four is reading this could you please shed some light on this and do we get any discount for being LZ members?.

regards

Terry

denso is OEM quality, been making motors/alternators (and dynamos) for years. no reason a cheaper one should be bad, many use new internals with old refurb casings.

So then.
I got a really annoying squeak from the front of the Disco, it got pretty bad after changing the power steering pump.
So.....water pump is the thing everyone said was the culprit, done the screw driver hearing test thingy and that was the place that was making the noise....changed that little baby, fired the disco up.......squeak squeak squeak.
£20 down.
Got the wd40 gave the alternator a squirt and silent.
Tried this a few times and kept getting a silent disco, so purchased a denso....£140 down...fitted it tonight and with a big smile on my face started her up..........squeak squeak squeak.

Rubbed my head and come to the conclusion that the belt tensioner was the only thing left, aha me thinks, sure i saw a thread about a penny fix thing. Done a search, found a penny, put it in the right place and...........fixed!.

£160 did nothing but a penny done the trick, go figure.
