Hi
I have brought some delux Land Rover seats for my 11A , the problem is there are no little metal rods sticking out either side of the seat back at the bottom that push through the holes in the bracket on the seat base whare you would pot a washer and split through to hold them in place. On the new seat back you can feel whare the round hole is behind the cover, can you buy something to go in there, is that hole threaded at all. The seats are Brit Part.
Thanks

As far as I can remember, they just sit in the seat base frame.
If in doubt, post some pics of the seats and seat base that you have, so we can see what is going on.

The old seat backs were attached to the seat base frame, its like a bracket that comes up each side of the seat with a hole in and the seat back had a little bar each side that went through the hole. I don’t think the back seat will stay in place with out them. The base seat as you said just sits in the frame.
Thanks

I would think your back will hold it in place, unless you are very small, in which case you won't be able to see over the steering wheel either! :D

Why not give it a try, and see what happens. I doubt if it will be an issue.

I can feel the round hole behind the vinyl on the new seat backs, I have tried to screw out the old one from the old seat back but they won’t budge. The new seat back won’t just sit in the seat frame, it needs to have those round bits of metal each side of the seat to push into the seat bracket holes.

New bolts?

you use bolts to screw base to seat back not replicate the rod

just use bolts into the threaded holes that you can feel through the vinyl. I seem to remember there was a couple of different positions of hole

I will have to nick the vinyl to see if the holes are threaded, I have emailed Brit part to see if they have the proper bolts to go in there but I have had no reply from them.

I had to do that with my new ones. They were threaded holes and once a small hole cut in the vinyl to reveal the hole, bolted to the seat frame quite happily.

Thanks, got them fitted, as said there is threaded holes behind the vinyl, only rapped me knuckles once as well doing it so not bad.
