The chassis number should be easily visible behind the bumper and below the steering box drivers side just in front of the wheel.
If its not there you got no chance of getting it reg. without a lot of hassle considering no other documentation either.

Thanks, good information I will give them a ring to ask for more information

Years back when I was young and foolish I bought a nice tidy SWB Series 3 diesel. It was only when I tried to MOT it that I realised that there was no Vin plate. We then discovered that the Chassis number had been ground off too. I was very worried as further investigation revealed that the Reg number actually belonged to a LWB Petrol. The police were involved and for a while it looked like I might lose the vehicle. In the end no one could say what the original identity of the vehicle was as the previous owner had disappeared and therefore prove who the rightful owner was. As I had a receipt proving that I had paid a good amount of cash I was allowed to keep the vehicle.
To prevent further issues I bought a wreck of a series 3 SWB and a galv chassis and rebuilt the wreck using many of the parts from the dodgy vehicle and then officially scrapped the dodgy chassis.
Buyer beware!

They are an established business so you should have some comeback if it turns out to be dodgy.
But it just looks like an unfinished bitsa project to me.
I guess it depends on how much it sells for.

Yes I believe your correct, I will see how much it goes to a couple of hrs before it ends,
Thank you

A few years ago a number of companies were buying old Land Rovers and then using their identities on new ones to sell in the US. 'Refurbished' it said on the adverts. The old one then used to be sold with no documents. In recent years the US authorities have got wise to this and are impounding the new ones with old identities so it's not a popular trade any more. But when I was buying mine there were a lot of older machines available from dealers with no documents.

I thought nene had gone so assumed it was the receivers selling off the stock. Google nene and its one time owner- some interesting snippets , nothing that would make you want to trust them.

Nene Overland is insolvent and is in administration.

The directors of Nene Overland formed a phoenix company Nene Overland SV LTD a few days before calling in the administrators.

Now I thought it was illegal to trade whilst insolvent. Now a lot of the goods owned/in the possession of Nene Overland was sold to Nene Overland SV Ltd for the princely sum of £75k. So who exactly is selling that vehicle on ebay?

The Nene Overland webshop was pulled but is now active again. Look at the vehicles for sale USA exportable, built to order 1986, 0 mileage, 4.0 V8 engine. There was me thinking to be USA exportable legally it had to be genuine.

Do your own research and decide if you want to deal with that company

All I#m going to add to this thread is this..........While theres someone prepared to pay good money for a vehicle without an identity , there will be someone prepared to steal one, not saying its stolen .......... but just my 2p worth on any vehicle without an identity

Moron, if you look on sites such as ebay you will find a lot of dodgy, illegal, stolen goods.

Comments such as my mate has sold his Jeep/Defender and now wants rid of the Puma bonnet! Really? His mate has sold his Defender without a bonnet?

Or buy this named light with correct part number at a cheap price! Only slight issue is that it is not a genuine named part.

How about buy this V5 and a handful of rust, wink wink!

To many of the UK public want things as cheap as possible without regard to legality of the items which just gives a big market place for the thieves, con men and scammers

You want to buy a vehicle from a bancrupt company who's directors are I beleive in prison for tax evasion...the vehicle has no documents nothing Nada the minute you try to reg or find history of it alarm bells will ring and you will have to answer the questions .. what drugs are you on !!!!...DO NOT get involved walk away...

You can do an HPI check from a VIN number, which would also identify it's registration number **** IF **** it is UK registered.
Remember there is no such thing as a bargain when dealing with the trade.
You will of course ignore the second piece of advice, because it's a bargain.

When I borrow tratterers from their current owner I always make sure I wipe oft me paw prints and the vin plate before passing it on to the new owner. Just saying.

If the seller (who ever that may be) wants to increase the value and interest int vehicle on sale without a log book, then he would apply for said log book and gain instant value int vehicle ont sale. It really is that easy... If it's legit.

The log book doesn't confirm who the owner is. It tells yer the registered keeper. A receipt of purchase tells you who the owner is. But when the vehicles vin is missing that could be any heap of rust without a vin plate.

A receipt doesn't provide proof of ownership if it was previously stolen and the theft unresolved. All tratters I supply come with a receipt if the cash purchaser asks for one. I can also provide an mot certificate, insurance certificate and service history for any vehicle at eggstra cost.
