So I got round to having a look at the wiper motor in the Defender today. Symptoms have been a bit sluggish operation, and a god awful screeching from the motor
The wiper boxes and the cable look OK, no wear and don't appear to be slipping. No teeth missing in the motor.
Parks in the right place
Regreased everything, reassembled but the motor is still screeching bad. I guess I am going to have to run the motor on the bench to see if I can pinpoint whats going on
Any ideas on whats going on? Cheers

Hello JimS. I can't help thinking "is it really worth it?". New motors are not too expensive and, if your going to add the cost of your time into the calculation, unless you enjoy the tinkering, or just want to get out of the house during Coronation St, is it worthwhile? o_O

I've had all the issues with my own Td5 wipers, the piece of mind when fitting a genuine LR replacement motor is, to me, a no brainier :p
