Hi Everyone
I'm finally getting the courage up to change the core plugs in my 2000 TD5 Defender at the weekend as one of them is slightly weeping.

When I took the exhaust manifold off a couple of years ago it was an absolute nightmare with the studs snapping.

I know that I have to take off the oil cooler and then the dipstick (making sure I replace the o ring) just to get access to the manifold. My question is should I get the uprated studs by Wurth in anticipation of them snapping or do u think as it's the inlet the standard Land Rover ones will be ok (if they need replacing).

I also presume (probably wrongly) that the 3 core plugs hidden by the inlet manifold are all the same size and part number 37D2260L

Any help appreciated

Cheers

I assume you mean exhaust and not inlet manifold?
If so are you aware on of the core plugs is threaded aluminium?

Hi mate - no I mean the inlet manifold. The core plugs are located on that side. These are the ones that tap in.

Yeah I think Ill go for the expensive studs just in case

Cheers
