Defender td5 in cab wiring?

Can anyone tell me what the brown connector in the picture above is next to the black relay where the wires go to the fuses. Thanks in advance
 
Air con harness.
I think its the only brown female connector in that bank, see pic C0277

You should find the land rover version of standard ISO blocks in the dash where the radio should be, just pick up a harness adaptor from halfords / fleabay cheap as chips etc. what year is you truck?

Block should be behind there, do you have speakers under dash each side?

If not then you need to start from scratch, go from fuse box* and find yourself

1 x permeant live feed*
1 x switched live feed (only on when ign on)*

1 xearth

run wires up to radio and ru speakers wires wherever you want them!

Dont forget yer antenna coax!
 
there you go you already have the harness ! they should go straight into back of stereo lead block ( they are standard ISO connection) your radio will have leads and a block they fit into., just check its fused somewhere along the way..

have a fish about behind there you should find your antenna lead, do you have an antenna (normally on front right wing)

No sign of an antenna anywhere and there isn't and antenna on the vehicle. It's funny that there is a harness because there are no speakers fitted
 
So normally you have :

RADIO with wires and a female ISO double connector
Which connects to your two plugs,
They are part of the adapter and then connect to your vehicle wiring ( in the pic below your yellow and blue are the brown and black under the truck!)
You really need to trace the yellow and blue and see what is connected
Here is a wiring diagram to help you.
On the A block you can Ignore 1,2,3 and 5 A6 just dims the stereo when you turn on your headlights....

They used a generic wiring loom so you often find connections for accessories you don't actually have.

You seem to have got the ultra rare and desirable factory fitted radio delete option.

The pin configuration on the connectors doesn't always match the pin configuration needed on the radio. I remember having to swap a few over myself when I did a similar job on mine a few years ago. I can't remember which, but I do recall it being reasonably easy to work out.
