From what I've read you can weld directly to galvanised steel, but you need to be very careful with the fumes. I'm not sure about the effects on weld integrity. For that reason (fumes) they may not be commercially produced. You could buy one and get it galvanised yourself.
If it was me, I would get the welding done to normal steel. The cross member could have an enormous weight attached to it in the future.
