Bit of a thread revival. Was told this morning that both rear lights are working, however my ns brake light isn't coming on when the os does. Guessing this must be a wire issue? Not had chance to look at anything yet but guess firstly take the rear light out and look for chafed wires or dodgy connection?

TIA

Before you start digging around in the wiring, It might be a good idea to check that the brake light filament in the bulb hasn't blown. The stop/tail light bulb is really two bulbs in the same glass envelope. Check also that the bulbholder body is clean and making a good contact with the side of the bulb; that can lead to some weird looking effects.

Ace, didn't realise the bulbs were dual filament until I asked one of the sparkies at work. Never really had a vehicle as temperamental as the Defender. I'll pick up a bulb on the way back from work.

Could be some water in there after yesterday's adventures helping out a few people near a flood haha.

Thanks for the reply! :)
